Br Br VI11 IX CHBO OCHj treated with aqueous hypobromite to yield crystalline l-hydroxy-%, 5-dibromo-8-methoxytetralin(V-11). The same dibromohydrin could be obtained by methylating 5, s-dihydro-1-naphthol and then isomerizing with base and treating with hypobromite.
