Ten 2-cyclopropyl-1-and-2-alkenes have been prepared from methyl cyclopropyl ketone by condensing the ketone with various Grignard reagents and dehydrating the resultant methylalkylcyclopropylcarbinols. Both alumina at 200 to 250 O and sulfuric acid were found to be satisfactory dehydrating agents.
