Mono a-fluoro ethers have been prepared by cleavage of a-alkoxy sulfoxides with diethylaminosulfur trifluoride (DAST) and by an exchange reaction of the corresponding ot- chloro ether with tetrabutylammonium fluoride (TBAF). The reactivity of different a-fluoro ethers in some nucleophilic substitution reactions has been investigated.
