Abstract The oxidative decarboxylation of phenylsulfinylacetic acid (PSAA) by Cr (VI) in 20% acetonitrile-80% water (v/v) medium follows overall second order kinetics, first order each with respect to [PSAA] and [Cr (VI)] at constant [] and ionic strength.
