Abstract

A facile one-pot method has been developed for the construction of 1,4-benzodiazepin-5-ones through a Brønsted acid catalyzed domino aza-Piancatelli rearrangement/Michael reaction between furfuryl carbinols and o-aminobenzamides under mild conditions.
