Abstract

Results Ligands. Ligands 2 and 3 have been synthesized by reaction of 2-(carboxymethyl)-6- formylpyridine8 with the proper alkylamine followed by reduction with NaBH4. Ligand 4 has been obtained by reduction of the imine formed by reacting 2-formylpyridine with n- dodecylamine. None of them is dispersible in neutral aqueous solutions; nevertheless, in the presence of at least 1 equiv of Cu2+ ions ligands 2 and 3 form clear dispersions at pH= ...
