We synthesized for the first time imidazo[4,5-g]indolizines from the 5-acylmethyl salts of 4-alkyl derivatives of imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine [5], and some of its styryl derivatives exhibited in the tests high antifungal and antibacterial activity [6, 7].
