Novel α-aminophosphonic acids are synthesized reacting 1, 3-oxazolidin-2-one derivatives with formaldehyde and phosphorus trichloride. Treatment of N-(phosphonomethyl) oxazolidinones with aqueous NaOH gave the expected α-aminophosphonic acids.
