Abstract

With these results in hand, we applied the optimum conditions to a variety of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds to demonstrate the efficiency and scope of the present method. The results are summarized in Table [2] . Under the optimized conditions, trans-4-hexen-3-one (2a) was treated with allyltrimethylsilane to produce 5-methyl-7-octen-3-one (2b) in 80% yield (entry 2).
