Abstract

A number of 5, 6-dihydro-ll-oxodibenz [b, e] azepine-3-acetic acids were synthesized. The compounds were up to-30 times more potent than phenylbutazone as antiinflammatory agents. However, &e some closely related compounds, for example, the isomeric 2-acetic acids, the compounds were almost devoid of activity in the mouse writhing analgesic assay.
