Preparative procedures are described for a new class of compounds containing the FC (N02) z-moiety. Three general synthesis methods are most useful in this series:(1) fluorination of 1, l-dinitro carbanion salts withperchloryl fluoride;(2) aqueous fluorination of 1, l-dinitro carbanions (the Grakauskas reaction);(3) reactions of fluorotrinitromethane with a variety of nucleophiles.
