Abstract

Summary Investigations have been made of the binding of a triply-charged sulfonated dye (FD and C Red No. 2) by bovine serum albumin. The extent of binding can be correlated in terms of equations derived from the law of mass action. Spectral methods and ultrafiltration experiments have been used to study the effect of $ H on protein-anion interactions. Binding phenomena disappear near PH 12.
