A novel mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (IC50=0.26 uM) with carbonic anhydrase inhibitory activity (IC50=19 uM); displays >42-fold selectivity over other steroid receptors (AR, PR and GR); dose-dependently increases urinary excretion of sodium in deoxycorticosterone acetate-treated rats without elevating serum levels of potassium, but not the DSR-30192 (NO carbonic anhydrase inhibitory activity, IC50>100 uM); shows antihypertensive effects in rats.
