In Vivo Butriptyline (1000 mg/kg; in diet; 10 weeks) shows anti-obesity effect in mice[1]. Butriptyline hydrochloride (2.5-30 mg/kg; i.p.; 10-15 day intervals) causes a dose dependent depression of the food reinforced responses and slightly depresses the avoidance reflex at the highest doses in male albino rats[2]. Animal Model: Female CFLP mice, monosodium glutamate (MSG)-induced obesity model[1] Dosage: 1000 mg/kg Administration: In diet, 10 weeks Result: Significantly lowered the body weight.
