Abstract

The reaction of D-glucono-&lactone with sulfanilamide to form N 4-~-gluconylsulfanilamide was carried out in hot dilute acetic acid solution. This procedure, however, was not applicable to the condensation of 2-keto-~-gluconic acid with sulfanilamide.
