Abstract

Abstract Oligosilsesquioxanes (OSS) may be considered as molecular sections of silica. The incompletely condensed (cy-clopentyl) 7 T 7 (OH) 3 (T= SiO 3/2) has been used to generate a phosphine-functionalized T 8-OSS system by reaction with 2-(trichlorosilyl) diphenylphosphinoethane. The resulting model molecule (cyclopentyl) 7 T 8 (CH 2) 2 PPh 2 (1) is well suited to coordinate to transition metal clusters via the phosphorous atom. We ...
