Abstract
Summary 1. A new general method for obtaining both pure active forms of an optically inactive base is described. Only one active form and the inactive form of the acid used for the resolution are required. The other active form of the acid is also obtained in the process. The method has been used for the complete resolution of phenylamino-acetic acid and camphor- sulfonic acid, and a-phenylethylarnine and malic acid, respectively.
