Abstract

The common reagents used for the preparation of solid derivatives of the alcohols are 3, 5- dinitrobenzoyl chloride, phenyl isocyanate and a-naphthyl isocyanate, Since the melting points of many of these derivatives of the common aliphatic alcohols are rather low, which makes them difficult to purify, and since the differences in the melting points of certain pairs of compounds are rather small, it was thought that a series of higher-melting derivatives ...
