Abstract

Abstract Ethylene chlorohydrin when reacted with elemental chalcogens or dimethyl dichalcogenides in the hydrazine hydrate-alkali system forms chalcogen-containing analogs of ethylene glycol and its derivatives (dichalcogenated β-diglycols, chalcogenated ethanols, and chalcogenated methyl cellosolves).
