Abstract

Abstract The new phosphine, PBu t 2 Bu i (L), was prepared from Bu t 2 PCl and LiBu i. PPh 2 Bu i (L′) was prepared from Ph 2 PCl and LiBu i. Treatment of [PtCl 2 (NCBu t) 2] with L′ gives [PtCl 2 L′ 2] which does not cyclometallate even on prolonged boiling in 2- methoxyethanol. In contrast,[PtCl 2 (NCBu t) 2] reacts with PBu t 2 Bu i in boiling 2- methoxyethanol to give the cyclometallated complex [Pt2Cl2 (PBut2CH2-CHMeCH 2) 2](II, ...
