Abstract
Treatment of cis-3-methoxycyclohexanecarboxylic acid with acetic anhydride and catalytic amounts of sulfuric acid leads to a mixture of three products, methyl cyclohex-3-ene- carboxylate, methyl trans-3-acetoxycyclohexanecarboxylate and methyl trans-4- acetoxycyclohexanecarboxylate.
