Abstract

Abstract Four novel bibenzyl derivatives; 3, 4, 3′, 4′-dimethylenedioxybibenzyl, 3, 3′- dimethoxy-4, 5-methylene-dioxybibenzyl, 3, 3'-dimethoxy-4, 5-methylenedioxy-4′- hydroxybibenzyl and 3, 3′-dihydroxy-4, 5, 4′, 5′-dimethylenedioxybibenzyl were isolated from three Frullania species of liverworts and their structures were determined by spectral evidence and synthesis.
