Abstract

α, β-Diarylacrylonitrile derivatives can be prepared by two different routes:(1) the intermolecular condensation of the same arylacetonitriles (2) the condensation of arylaldehydes and arylacetonitriles with a catalytic amount of NaOCH3 at room temperature.
