Abstract

Xitrogen analogs of ketenes have been used as reagents for the formation of the peptide bond. The N-protected amino acids glycine, alanine and methionine were converted in high yield to stable, crystalline adducts with the ketenimine I. The adducts were formed in non- polar, aqueous or alcoholic solutions.
