取5g四水合七钼酸铵（仲钼酸铵）（NH4）6Mo7O24·4H2O溶于15mL水中，再加入50mL浓氨水。然后，往溶液中通入硫化氢，则溶液开始为黄色，然后变为深红色，半小时后，很快生成大量的晶体沉淀（其中有的结晶成长得很好）。结晶先用冷水洗涤，然后用乙醇洗涤，在真空中干燥。
