由苊经气相催化脱氢而得:将工业苊投入熔融釜,用间接蒸汽加热使全部熔化。用压缩空气将液苊压入螺旋气化混合器,用蒸汽加热气化,直接蒸汽与苊蒸气混合进入过热炉,过热至450±20℃,进入脱氢反应器,经催化脱氢反应,然后冷凝、干燥而得粗苊烯。用乙醇溶解粗苊烯,除去炭化物和机械杂质,冷却、结晶、干燥而得成品。所用催化剂为氧化锌(85%)、氧化钙(5%)、硫酸钾(5%)、铬酸钾(3%)、氢氧化钾(2%)。
