葡萄糖-6-磷酸脱氢酶是磷酸戊糖途径的限速酶。葡萄糖-6-磷酸脱氢酶是NADPH的主要来源,NADPH是许多必需的细胞系统所需的,包括抗氧化途径、一氧化氮合酶、NADPH氧化酶、细胞色素p450系统等。葡萄糖-6-磷酸脱氢酶可用于糖尿病、醛固酮诱导的内皮功能障碍和癌症的研究[1]。
