Generation of blue fluorescence together with phospholipid hydroperoxides and aldehyde species in rat liver microsomes during oxidation with FeCl 2-ADP-ascorbic acid was monitored, and the kind of lipid oxidation products participating in the formation of blue fluorescence was investigated.
