摘要

In recent years, the oxidative esterification of aldehydes with alcohols using NHC catalysts has been reported, opening a new area of application of these versatile organocatalysts. 3 In earlier work, the oxidation of the intermediate generated from the addition of the NHC to the aldehyde functionality has been achieved by coupling it with a reduction occurring elsewhere in the molecule.
