Abstract

Abstract Polyfluorinated derivatives of benzene, naphthalene and pyridine react with salts of the difluorochloronium ClF+ 2, difluorobromonium BrF+ 2 and tetrafluorobromonium BrF+ 4 cations to give fluorinated derivatives of 1, 4-cyclohexadiene and 1-aza-1, 3-cyclohexadiene respectively. In the absence of fluorine anion acceptors, ClF 3, BrF 3 and BrF 5 are less reactive in these reactions than salts of the HalF+ n cations.
