In Vitro | 10 μM tyrphostin 23 causes significant inhibition of the cell proliferation caused by 1 nM and 1μM ghrelin[2]. Tyrphostin 23 (T23) is a well-known inhibitor of protein tyrosine kinases and has been considered as potential anti-cancer drug. T23 is reported to acutely stimulate the glycolytic flux in primary cultured astrocytes. Tyrphostin 23 stimulates glycolytic flux in cultured astrocytes. Mitochondrial metabolism of brain astrocytes is accelerated by Tyrphostin 23 exposure[3]. |

Regulation of store-operated Ca2+ entry in pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells.
Cell Calcium 46(2) , 99-106, (2009) Store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) is an important mechanism for Ca2+ influx in smooth muscle cells; however the activation and regulation of this influx pathway are incompletely understood. In the pres... |

Spatio-temporal cellular dynamics of the Arabidopsis flagellin receptor reveal activation status-dependent endosomal sorting.
Plant Cell 24(10) , 4205-19, (2012) The activity of surface receptors is location specific, dependent upon the dynamic membrane trafficking network and receptor-mediated endocytosis (RME). Therefore, the spatio-temporal dynamics of RME ... |

Swelling-activated K+ efflux and regulatory volume decrease efficiency in human bronchial epithelial cells.
J. Membr. Biol. 214(1) , 33-41, (2006) This study describes the correlation between cell swelling-induced K+ efflux and volume regulation efficiency evaluated with agents known to modulate ion channel activity and/or intracellular signalin... |
