由甲苯氯化制得。在甲苯中加催化剂三氯化磷,加热至沸,在良好的光照下通氯反应15-20h,当液体的沸点达到215℃时停止通氯。减压蒸馏,收集97-98℃(1.6kPa)的馏分,即为成品,产率90%。
