EMERGENCY OVERVIEW

Potential Health Effects
Eye:
Causes eye burns. May cause chemical conjunctivitis and corneal damage.
Skin:
Causes skin burns. May cause skin rash (in milder cases), and cold and clammy skin with cyanosis or pale color.
Ingestion:
May cause severe and permanent damage to the digestive tract. May cause severe gastrointestinal tract irritation with nausea, vomiting and possible burns. Section 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
Eyes: Get medical aid immediately. Do NOT allow victim to rub eyes or keep eyes closed. Extensive irrigation with water is required (at least 30 minutes).
Skin:
Get medical aid immediately. Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes.
Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately.
Inhalation:
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Do NOT use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. If breathing has ceased apply artificial respiration using oxygen and a suitable mechanical device such as a bag and a mask.

General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.

图XVII-7 制备DCI的仪器

1.用浓D2SO4与NaCl反应.所用装置如图所示,瓶1为D2SO4储器。用虚线画的支管2与制D2SO4装置中的接受器熔接。玻璃内封口5将1与瓶3和4隔开。首先将15g浓D2SO4装入1中,然后在2处熔封。同时将35g最纯的NaCl装入3。NaCl事先在高真空中熔融一些时间使它干燥并排气,然后在室温下粉碎。将6熔封之后,由7处将反应器的左面部分抽真空然后熔封,与抽气系统脱离。利用电磁铁移动带铁心的玻璃击器8将内封口5击破,小心地将仪器倾倒使D2SO4由1中慢慢地滴到3瓶中的NaCl上。生成的DCl通过防溅雾物的阱9,被DCl挟带过来的一些NaCl微粒就留在阱中。DCl冷凝在用液态空气冷却的接受器4中。所有的D2SO4都加入3中以后再把这个发生器在200℃加热一些时候,最后收集在1中的DCl在高度真空中分馏数次,以除去D2O。

2.2SiCl4被D2O分解。在两个薄壁的安瓿分别装入18g纯SiCl4和1.8g D2O。在高真空下将它们熔封。把它们装入一个5L的烧瓶中。烧瓶的玻璃塞上熔接着一个活拴。将烧瓶抽真空后摇动烧瓶把安瓿碰破。经过24h之后将烧瓶与高度真空抽气装置熔接,将粗制的气体冷凝在一个用液态空气冷却的冷凝器中。提纯仍用分馏法。
