将甲硫醇钠-无水乙醇溶液加热至沸腾，停止加热，在2h内搅拌下滴加氯乙醇。将反应混合物浓缩，放冷后滤除氯化钠，滤液减压分馏，收集68-70℃（2.67kPa）馏分，得2-甲硫基乙醇，收率74%-82%。
