双甲脒制备
1、 由2,4-二甲基苯胺、原甲酸三乙酯和甲胺反应制得。原料消耗定额：2,4-二甲基苯胺（折100%）350kg/t、原甲酸三乙酯（折100%）500kg/t、一甲胺70kg/t、二甲苯750kg/t。
2、 N-2，4-二甲基苯基-N'-甲基甲脒的制备 间二甲苯经硝化、还原、分离制得2，4-二甲基苯胺。再用盐酸酸化得相应的盐。操作方法：将55.1g(0.35mol)2,4-二甲基苯胺盐酸盐、83.7g(0.4mol)对甲苯磺酰氯和150mL N-甲基甲酰胺的混合物冷却搅拌。发热反应结束后将混合物再在室温下搅拌4h，然后全部注入冷水中，用10mol/L氢氧化钠溶液调至碱性，在此期间温度保持10℃以下，过滤、水洗、干燥、用环己烷重结晶，得N-2，4-二甲基苯基-N'-甲基甲脒，熔点75～76℃，收率85%。
双甲脒的合成 19.4g (0.12mol) N-2，4-二甲苯基-N'-甲基甲脒、0.3g对甲苯磺酸、195mL干燥二甲苯的混合物加热回流48h，释放出甲胺。反应毕，减压蒸出二甲苯，残留物固化，经异丙醇重结晶2次，制得双甲脒，熔点88～89℃，收率90%。
或在苯腈存在下，以Cu2O为催化剂反应。
3、 原甲酸三乙酯与2，4-二甲基苯胺反应，制得N-（2，4-二甲苯基亚氨基）甲酸乙酯（简称亚胺酸酯），再将干燥的甲胺气体通入亚胺酸酯中，得单甲脒（N-2，4-二甲苯基-N'-甲基甲脒）。单甲脒与亚胺酸酯缩合成双甲脒。
4、 2，4-二甲苯胺与甲酸反应制得N-2，4-二甲苯甲酰胺，再与光气作用，以三乙胺为缚酸剂，得2，4-二甲苯胩。将干燥的甲胺气体通入至二甲苯胩与氧化亚铜的混合物中，反应毕趁热加入环己烷，冷却过滤出单甲脒。再与二甲苯胩在苯中反应得双甲脒。
