This class of drugs is mainly for the treatment of hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatic encephalopathy. Many liver diseases, especially viral hepatitis, are currently not treated with specific drugs. Certain essential amino acids or substances that participate in normal biochemical processes can only be used as an adjunct to liver disease, and the exact efficacy needs to be further confirmed. Since there is no such substance in the normal human body, it cannot be abused as a tonic, otherwise it will affect or aggravate the burden of liver metabolism. Many viral hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, sclerosing cholangitis, etc. are currently thought to be related to autoimmunity. For relevant immunosuppressive agents and immune function modulators, refer to the relevant chapters. It is now believed that the onset of hepatic encephalopathy may be related to elevated blood ammonia or neurotransmitter abnormalities in the brain. Therefore, the currently used therapeutic drugs for hepatic encephalopathy mainly include drugs for lowering blood ammonia and correcting central neurotransmitter disorders. As the basic research of hepatocyte growth-promoting substances is deepened and clinically applied to hepatitis and cirrhosis, such biological preparations are also included.
